Our Core Values

At Zetland Primary School we have 5 core values.  We hope to see these values shine through every part of our time at school.  We may get chosen as ‘Pupil of the Week’ or ‘Zetland Star’ if we show these values.

All of the adults at school sat together to decide which values were most important to our school.  We decided upon these five.

Togetherness

We need to work together and support each other.  This means being proud of each other, celebrating everyone’s achievements and helping out when people are finding things difficult.

Resilience

Resilience is about ‘not giving up!’ We all find things hard from time to time, but having a go, trying your best and asking for help all help to build resilience.

Equality

At Zetland Primary we are all special and all unique.  It is important that we respect and value our differences and recognise that these differences help to build a stronger community.

Curiosity

If we are curious about the world around us then we will never stop learning.  Curiosity is about wondering with questions like ‘What if?’ and ‘Why?’. “Curiosity is the spark behind the spark of every great idea.  The future belongs to the curious!”

Kindness

In a world where you can be anything – be kind!  We value kindness above all else at Zetland Primary and we look for this in our actions and words.  If we are kind to each other and can think about others with compassion and empathy then we can make our school a beautiful place to be.
